About Us

Pawsitive Dawg Walking and Pet Sitting is a team based dog walking and pet sitting company serving Waltham and surrounding areas. We provide reliable, high quality care using force free, fear free principles. We are looking for an organized, calm, dependable Pet Care Operations Assistant who can support the day to day admin flow, help move projects forward, and step into the field when we need last minute backup coverage.


The Role

Admin and project support plus occasional dog walking and pet sitting coverage when needed


Hours

-Monday through Friday availability for 3+ hours between 9-5pm

-This is a guaranteed 10 hour/week position but you have the ability to increase your hours if you are willing to provide more dog walking/pet sitting visits throughout the day and/or weekends


Key Responsibilities

-Daily admin support

-Manage and organize messages and requests

-Flag urgent items and help keep responses on track

-Support scheduling changes and service adjustments as needed

-Maintain tidy, accurate client and pet records

-Prepare simple templates, checklists, and follow up messages


Help with routine internal coordination

-Reminders, task tracking, and handoffs

-Projects and process support


Assist with ongoing projects

-Updating trackers, organizing files, and documenting simple procedures

-Support team communications and follow ups so tasks do not fall through the cracks


Help improve systems over time

-Suggest small, practical upgrades


Field support, backup coverage

-Provide last minute coverage for dog walks or pet sitting visits when needed

-Complete key exchanges, supply runs, or other local errands as required

-Follow all safety protocols and care standards

-Ensure pets are visually accounted for during each visit

-Document visits clearly and professionally so clients and the team stay informed

-Projects move forward consistently, even when things get busy

-Backup coverage is handled smoothly and professionally-Clients receive timely, warm communication and the team feels supported


Qualifications

-Strong organization skills and excellent follow through

-Confident communicator-Clear, friendly, professional writing

-Comfortable learning and using apps and systems (Scheduling software, shared docs, trackers)

-Able to shift priorities quickly and stay calm under pressure

-Live in our service area and within a 15 minute drive to Waltham

-Reliable transportation for local field support and running errands

-Experience with dogs and cats is a plus.

-Professional pet care experience is even better

-Comfortable working independently and making good judgment calls


Physical and Practical Requirements

-Able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods during coverage visits

-Able to handle leashes and manage dogs safely using force free handling

-Comfortable working outdoors in typical New England weather
